South Korea, pre-announcement that MKE (EK-mark) will become the only party providing Safety approvals for ITE/RF devices. KCC (RRA-MIC) will integrate EMC into in their RF approval system and MKE-KATS will not provide EMC approvals anymore.

South Korea, as of 2013-01-01, KCC (RRA-MIC) SAR requirements will change, and not only be required for Mobile phones anymore, but follow to a large extend the FCC SAR requirements, meaning that other RF devices (WLAN, WiMAX, etc) shall be applied for SAR measurements.

South Korea revised KKC EMC
South Korea, as of 2011-07-01, EMI "RS" testing according standard KN301-489 has to be performed up to 2.7GHz (was before up to 1GHz), in line with the European EN301489 standard for Radio devices. EMC "RE" testing above 1 GHz will also be implemented as of 2012-01-01.

RRA market surveillance
South Korea, within the new RRA certification scheme for RF, Telecom and ITE devices, market surveillance has become formal and will be executed more frequently compared to the past. The test reports will be checked and a sample will be requested for re-testing in the RRA lab.

South Korea, as of 2011-06-01, computer servers will have to comply with the e-Standby energy requirements. The power consumption in standby mode for Single processor equipment (general use) shall not exceed 55W. BRIC BRICS BRIKT MIST
BRIC Countries are considered to be the emerging economies, but the world is changing and the concept appears dynamic and gets follow ups. Speech Power for Charging
Researchers at the Institute of Nanotechnology at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea have developed a new technique for turning sound into electricity, allowing a mobile phone to be powered up while its user holds a conversation. The technology would also be able to harness background noise and even music to charge a phone while it is not in use.
